Quest For Glory
I LOVE old adventure games, and Quest For Glory by Sierra tops the list. (with Monkey Island coming in a close second.) It was the first copmputer game i played solo (as in, without my dad's help, i had previously 'assisted' him with Kings Quest, Space Quest and Leisure Suit Larry. yes, i come from a family of proud adventurers.) when it came out in 1990, and was still called Hero's Quest, and i was 12. and i completed the game before we had internet, and there fore, without spoilers! w00t! i was SO pleased with myself. and it was so funny. my sister and i jsut loved torturing the poor guy in our games... we looked for all the funniest ways to die, it was such fun. :-P so the game has sentimental value to me, and i got the anthology collection and replay the games form time to time. i have created some pretty kick-ass characters, and lucky for you, i saved some of them! here are two of my favourites. a Mage named Aaron, and a Paladin named Kurt (oh, gee, guess who i named him after? :-P) enjoy. I've always wanted to play through all the games as a thief, so maybe a cool Thief character wil be showing up soon. i keep trying to finish as a fighter, but always end up getting Paladinized even if i am not trying. go figure, guess I am just a goody-two shoes. keep in mind there are tricks you can do to max every stat, or using cheat codes on the whole list, but i'm one of those 'honest' players and prefer to do it without putting a weight on my keyboard to make my character repeatedly give flowers to Shema, or whatever. so while i tended to get pretty damn high stats, a few *cough*climbing*cough* just werent usefull enough to bother with raising all that much... i mean sure i used 'razzle dazzle root beer' and 'suck blue frog' for fun, but i never saved those characters. and i never maxed out a lot of the spells except offensive ones, though i know some people do. i mean SERIOUSLY, what the HELL do you need maxed 'Detect Magic' for??? you don't need it maxed to do anything in the game. trust me, a level 10 Detect finds WIT just as effectively as 100.

Kurt - Ready to be uploaded into Trial by Fire or higher, Kurt is a Fighter with (considerable) magic ability turned Paladin. Yes, he's a hybrid character! so shoot me. Here's the downloads for each game he's completed, with his stats listed. just download the .sav file and put it where ever you like to keep your saved characters. The games look in the directory the game is installed in by default when importing a character. or click the title for a .zip with all of them.

Quest for Glory characters - Wanna play a kick-ass Paladin character in QfG5 (or 4 or 3) but don't want to play through all the games to get a truly AWESOME character? never fear. I am a stickler for damn near maxing out my character's stats, and i have decided to share a lovely Mage and magic wielding Paladin with all of you. I will work on a thief and plain fighter, as well.
